Junior Project Manager (Part-time)

Remote Sensing Lab (RS Lab), National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Zografou Campus (in person). The host organization The Remote Sensing Lab (RS Lab) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is a leading academic research group working at the intersection of Earth Observation, geospatial technologies, artificial intelligence, and environmental monitoring. RS Lab coordinates and participates in multiple European and international research projects, and contributing to cutting-edge applications in climate monitoring, land and ocean observation, environmental sustainability, and digital transformation. Our team brings together researchers, engineers, and project managers working on high-impact scientific and applied projects with strong societal relevance. The position of part-time junior Project Manager We are looking for a junior Project Manager (approximately 1 day per week) to support communication, outreach and event planning activities. The ideal candidate will have an interest or background in the Earth Observation (EO), geospatial, space, or AI ecosystem, and will work closely with our project managers, team leader Asst Prof Dr Ioannis Papoutsis, and researchers to strengthen the lab’s visibility, dissemination impact, and operational efficiency.

Duties The selected candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks, in collaboration with the RS Lab’s project managers, including¨

• Managing and updating RS Lab’s social media channels, website and other communication platforms • Promoting research activities, project milestones, events, and publications • Supporting the creation of content (posts, short articles, visuals, announcements) • Contributing to RS Lab’s communication plans to enhance outreach and stakeholder engagement • Tracking communication & dissemination activities and preparing short internal reports • Assisting with event organization (workshops, project meetings, dissemination events, hackathons, conferences) • Supporting light administrative tasks where necessary Requisites • In person on site work (Zografou campus, Athens, Greece) • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Greek is an asset but not mandatory) • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools • Basic knowledge of graphic or content creation tools (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint, Adobe tools) • Good organizational and coordination skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an academic research environment • Interest in European research projects and innovation ecosystems Assets (not mandatory) • A background or strong interest in Earth Observation, geospatial technologies, AI, space, environmental sciences, or STEM fields • Experience with EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, ESA, etc.) • Experience in science communication or research dissemination
